About

Who Is Joanne?

There was a time in my life when I was always chasing the next big goal—driven, busy, and rarely present. On the outside, I had what many would call a “good life,” but I didn’t realize how much I was taking for granted. I didn’t question the foundation I stood on: my health, my energy, and my time. I assumed there would always be more days, more chances, more opportunities.

As a cancer survivor, I’ve walked the path of rebuilding. I’ve faced the uncertainty, the fear, and the challenge of finding my footing after such a life-altering experience. Through this journey, I discovered tools and practices that helped me restore my resilience, reclaim my health, and step confidently into the next chapter of my life.

Now, I take notice and deeply appreciate the simple things—like birds chirping, a clear blue sky, and the freedom to get out of bed each morning. These experiences guide how I work with my clients: with empathy, insight, and a practical roadmap for navigating challenges, reclaiming vitality, and creating a life aligned with what truly matters to them.

I’m now a mother, and my most cherished moments are coloring, storytelling, snuggling, and dancing with my daughter – moments I strive to fully savor. I love connecting with people and hearing their stories, struggles, and turning points. Through my own journey, I’ve learned that resilience and joy come in many forms, and I’m passionate about helping others discover theirs.

My Journey

I began my career as a pharmacist in Australia and later worked in drug safety and labeling research in the biotech industry. In my mid-30s, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer – a shocking, life-altering moment for someone young, healthy, and with no family history. My life changed overnight.

What followed were countless consultations, second opinions, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 surgeries, and 36 rounds of radiation. I lost my hair, endured intense illness, pain, and lasting physical changes from treatment and complications.

Through it all, I realized how much I had neglected my own well-being while chasing achievement. I learned the importance of resilience, self-care, and truly listening to my body—lessons that now guide how I support others in rebuilding their health, confidence, and balance.

After treatment ended, I felt confused, grieving, and unsure how to move forward. People told me to “be positive” or “you’ve got this,” but I didn’t know how. At Mass General Hospital and Cedars-Sinai, I explored survivorship and mindfulness programs and learned from experts. I began to understand that life is fleeting and each moment is a gift. Step by step, I started to put myself back together.

I continued pursuing health and wellness to deepen my understanding of healing and the power of intention. Coaching became a natural extension of that journey – blending science, listening, and a deep belief that transformation lives within each of us.

Today, I’m passionate about helping others have these conversations earlier, so they can begin living wholeheartedly before illness or crisis becomes the catalyst. While we can’t control what life brings, we can choose intentional steps that give us the best chance to live well.

FAQ

What is coaching and what will I expect on this journey?

Coaching is a collaborative, future-focused process that uses evidence-based approaches to help you identify challenges, clarify what you want, and create meaningful, sustainable change. I don’t diagnose or offer cookie-cutter solutions—instead, we build on your strengths, motivations, and values to create forward momentum.

You’ll find a safe, supportive space where your story is truly heard. I take time to understand your challenges, hopes, and goals so we can shape a path that feels authentic and empowering.

Expect visioning, goal setting, skill building, and regular check-ins to track progress. Between sessions, you’ll take action, experiment, and grow with guidance and support along the way.

What are the benefits of coaching?

Coaching bridges the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. I offer a personalized, supportive space to clarify your goals, overcome obstacles and create lasting change. You will gain: personalized guidance, accountability, clarity & focus, emotional support and sustainable growth.

I will empower you to take actionable steps, build resilience, and stay connected to your inner strength as you move toward your vision.

What areas of my life can you help me with?

Coaching supports you in creating a healthier, more fulfilling life—whether you’re navigating life after cancer, living with a chronic condition (such as diabetes or autoimmune disease), or moving through transitions like menopause or burnout. Together, we explore areas like energy, nutrition, movement, mindset, identity, and daily balance.

If you feel overwhelmed by health advice, struggle with consistency, or are craving renewed purpose and vitality, coaching offers personalized, compassionate guidance. You’ll reconnect with yourself, rebuild trust in your body, and shift from patient to thriver – creating sustainable habits that support your long-term well-being.

How does reflecting on purpose, goals & vision support healing?

When life is thrown off course, it’s easy to lose a sense of identity, direction, and control. Rather than rigid checklists, I see goals and vision as gentle reminders of what matters most—helping you stay connected to yourself, even in times of change.

Together, we explore what feels meaningful right now and find small, intentional ways to refocus your energy. Whether it’s prioritizing self-care, setting simple intentions, or envisioning a future that feels authentic and empowering, I support you in creating a path aligned with your values and desires.

How long does coaching take?

Every wellness journey is personal. Meaningful change often takes at least three months, with weekly sessions to build momentum. Some people experience shifts in just a few sessions, while others choose to continue longer for deeper transformation.

Coaching lasts as long as it feels valuable – and ends when you feel confident in your tools, habits, and mindset to move forward on your own.

Do you offer sliding scale or free sessions?

Yes. As part of my commitment to making support more accessible, I offer a limited number of free sessions for individuals in active cancer treatment, as well as sliding scale pricing for those experiencing financial hardship. If this applies to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d be honored to support you.
