I was honored to contribute this article to Learn Look Locate, a platform dedicated to empowering women through education and advocacy around breast health. In this piece, I explore and discuss the medical realities of dense breast tissue in Asian women and what this means for detection. I also share reflections on survivorship through the lens of being an Asian woman — where cultural values such as privacy, silence, resilience can shape the way many of us experience diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. By naming these cultural dynamics, my hope is to open space for honest dialogue, deeper understanding, self advocacy and more supportive pathways of healing for Asian women and beyond.
